Welcome!

by Staff Writer

Welcome. I’m Jen, married and mother of two young children and lover of all things travel related. Many of you know me from my blog, Stay At Home Motherdom, but what you may not know is that I was genetically and environmentally programmed by my father to be a vacation bargain hunter. My family of origin was of modest means, but my parents always budgeted so that our family took several vacations a year. I remember those times with fondness and have many memories of traveling with my parents and siblings. I consider it incredibly important to travel as a family, both culturally (to gain knowledge of other places and people) and to strengthen the family bond.

As I have grown older, my need for a touch of luxury in my vacations started to become important. While my dad was a bare bones kind of budget traveler, I now seek out bargains but many of my vacations fit into a moderate to luxurious category. I have found some excellent deals over the years that made my father proud of the price tag but made me satisfied with the level of accomodations. (And I have become quite picky!)

The purpose of this blog is to help you identify great deals and vacations that will fit into your family budget. I hope to get you acquainted with various websites out there that offer some spectacular deals and keep you apprised of last minute vacations and random deals out there on the internet. I’ll identify both vacations and deals great for families and special vacations for couples. (when you actually get the chance to get away alone!) Hopefully, you’ll get some good ideas, save some money and gain an appreciation for the finer things in life!
